Interview with Solstice Rider

Today, we sit down with Solstice Rider to talk their inspiration to write music, advice for musicians, and much more! Be sure to check out the music from Solstice Rider on Spotify below after the interview!

Interview:

What is your inspiration to write your music? Is it your
surroundings?

Hey, this is Jeremy from Solstice Rider! Solstice Rider draws inspiration from all things Finnish metal, movie and game soundtracks, and Japanese music. Walking out of my house and seeing the changing Autumn trees is enough to inspire the music.

What type of music did you listen to growing up?

I grew up listening to my dad’s music. Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden for sure. Then I found bands like System of a Down and Rammstein. Eventually, I found Sonata Arctica’s “Wolf and Raven” on Youtube back in 2008 at the age of 14. At that point, my awakening to the metal genre took hold.

Is there someone you looked up as a hero?

Ronnie James Dio for sure. He was like a god to me. He felt otherwordly.

If you weren’t a musician, would you be doing today?

I am currently a programmer so I would probably still be doing that.

What advice do you have for our fans out there that want to create
music?

Do it for you. Do not do it for fame, or glory. Make something you’ve wanted to hear but could not find.
