Today, we sat down with Fake News to talk their inspiration to write music, advice for musicians and much more! The type of music they listened to when they were growing up is legendary! We got excited to see the names on they had listed and we are like yup that is cool!

Interview:

What is your inspiration to write your music? Is it your

surroundings?

It would have to come from our deep seeded love of music. Music is an amazing thing. It can change how you’re feeling in an instant, make you get up & dance, start singing, smile, laugh, start a conversation, make new friends. I know how I feel about music & how it has affected me over my life & we want to be able to give that experience to others as well. Yes it also does come from your surroundings as most music does. Your life experience is the catalyst to be able to create any artform & we would like to think that our lives are portrayed in our music.

What type of music did you listen to growing up?

When I was a kid in the 80’s it was listening to my dads Midnight Oil or Dire Straits records cranked right up. Then in my early teen years in the 90’s I got into metal – Pantera, Metallica, Sepultura & the like. Then around 1994/95 I discovered Pennywise, NOFX, Bad Religion, Ten Foot Pole, Strung Out & that was me there was no turning back. 90’s punk was my thing & has been ever since. I still listen to those albums from back then now, but it is mixed in with a lot of modern punk rock now as well. Rest assured though, as anyone that knows me will tell you, if I am in control of the stereo its going to be blasting some form of punk or metal through it. Much to most people’s disgust but hey that’s their problem. They should like good music to start with!

Is there someone you looked up as a hero?

Not really. I guess I admired bands like I mentioned earlier & wanted to be in a band that people liked but I wouldn’t say looked up to as a hero.

If you weren’t a musician, would you be doing today?

Probably a supermodel. My music career has definitely held me back from my true calling.

What advice do you have for our fans out there that want to create

Get out there & do it! Everyone starts at the bottom & it’s only through dedication & hard work that anything is achieved. Know what you want to achieve. Find like minded people that share the same vision & have a ton of fun doing it.
