MIAMI – AUGUST 14, 2023 – ViX, the world’s leading Spanish-language streaming service, announced today that its new original series, CUALQUIER PARECIDO (Any Resemblance), premieres August 25 on the service’s premium plan. The comedy stars Camila Sodi (“Rubí”, “Sin huellas” [No Traces], “Enfermo amor” [Sick Love], “Luis Miguel: la serie”), who is also creator and executive producer of the series, and actor and singer-songwriter Jencarlos Canela(“Pasión prohibida” [Forbidden Love], “Gran hotel”, “Telenovela”) as a special guest.
The original production cast also includes Antonio Gaona, Claudette Maille, Valeria Vera, Danny Perea and Danae Reynaud.
Based on real-life events, the series features stories of love and heartbreak, friendship, family, fame, sex and the experience of rediscovering oneself, becoming empowered and starting over.
CUALQUIER PARECIDO tells the story of Carlota, who, after separating from the person she thought was the love of her life, discovers that the saying “happily ever after” is not always true, but that doesn’t mean she can’t be happy.
The series produced by Paramount Television International Studios in collaboration with Argos Contenido Original is directed by Karina Minujin and executive produced by Jaime Ramos and Andrea de la Torre, along with showrunner Natasha Ybarra-Klor (“Oscuro deseo” [Dark Desire], “Ingobernable” [Ungovernable], “Las Aparicio”) who is also executive producer and creator of the series.
