We were able to get a digital review code of the game Armed and Gelantinous: Couch Edition for our Xbox Series S console. The game downloaded pretty fast as the game wasn’t too big. Once downloaded, we went to play Armed and Gelantinous: Couch Edition on our console. I noticed that I would need 3 other people to play with me which surprised me. I didn’t have anyone else in my area to play with, so I continued under CPU for each of those other 3 players. The started off my first game under death match which was very exciting. I learned to dash at my opponents to steal weapons, destroy them, and also just to dash. I lost the first few games, but came up on the winning side later on. Armed and Gelantinous is a pretty fun game that will give you nostalgia of those nights where you and your friends stay over and play until early in the morning.

Our thoughts

Pro:

  • Game Modes
    • I enjoyed trying out the different game modes for Armed and Gelantinous. The ones I did enjoy much more is the soccer mode and death match mode. I enjoy winning playing games, so I was very in tuned into each of those modes. The death match mode was epic as collecting weapons and growing bigger to destroy those opponents. I digged that.
  • Friends
    • You don’t see many games these days that require you to have friends to play with you. I appreciate that they created a game to have friends enjoy blowing each other up haha. I feel this would be very welcomed in those Lan groups or competition gaming nights.

Con:

  • Need more players to join you
    • Armed and Gelantinous requires that you have 3 other players with you to fully enjoy the game. Granted, they do let you add CPU in those other 3 spots depending how many play with you. Even though, I didn’t have 3 other friends to play with and continued to play against CPU, it was ok.

Rating: 8 out of 10
