Anniina is a 19 year-old singer-songwriter from Helsinki, Finland. Infatuated with music from a very young age, she was learning to play piano after watching a video in concert of Adele, which gave her an immediate springboard and notion that this is what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. With this in mind, she continued to study and then moved to the Berklee College of Music at 18, furthering her knowledge and understanding of the art of songwriting.

Prior to that, she got herself into the final stages of the UK Songwriting Contest, the International Songwriting Awards and the International Songwriting Competition, which only gave Anniina more confidence to persist and write songs that are meaningful and hit home.

Continuing in her journey of self discovery, Anniina focuses on personal storytelling and experiences, writing a lot of her songs in high school before moving to Boston. Now, she is finally ready to start sharing her songs she has kept under wraps all of this time, and it already feels like she has an array of songs which are of a very high level to share.

The first single she has decided to release is ‘Fire’, and you can already see that this is Anniina personified. Minimalistic and delicate pop production, it allows for her captivating and memorable vocals to take centre stage in this song that is all about heartbreak and feeling like you’re stuck and not able to move on. An artist who is clearly way beyond her years, the writing is simply brilliant and overwhelmingly powerful, where Anniina picks and chooses the exact right moments to rise and fall whilst the song follows her every move.

She leads with conviction and a maturity that can only be admired, making it clear that Anniina will spark the interest of listeners around the globe with her modern day pop sound that sits so seamlessly in today’s most streamed songs. ‘Fire’ is the perfect introduction to her offering as an artist, in a truly dramatic and classic break-up which is implemented with pure class. 

Anniina’s startling debut ‘Fire’ was written around the time of moving from her childhood home to a new country, creating an epic story of growing up and going through a big change in life after a heartbreak. It’s beautifully present and strong, and Anniina could be the next big thing to come in 2022.

Anniina says ”I remember writing a part of the song super jet lagged in a hotel room on one of my first days in a new city. I had just arrived, and all these new and exciting things were happening around me, but I couldn’t think of anything else but what went wrong with the person back home. Pretty soon after, I met my friend Sasha who I then co-wrote and finished the song with.”
