Looking for a challenging game full of zombies, epic weapons, and a killer campaign? Well my good friends, look no further because here comes Zombie Army 4: Dead War.

Zombie Army 4 is a third person tactical shooter that was developed by Rebellion Developments and was first seen in Zombie Army Trilogy that was release on March 6th, 2015. The Zombie Army Trilogy as well as Zombie Army 4 were released as spin offs from the Sniper Elite series that introduced not only a solo campaign, but a co-op experience with your choices of eight players to choose from so you and your friends could storm the battle field fighting Hitler’s undead army.

The experience I had with Zombie Army 4 was phenomenal, with an interesting story, new ways to spruce up your weapon loadouts, and being able to customize your characters themselves. It was difficult to narrow down what I particularly enjoyed about the game due to the fact that there was so much to choose from. New abilities include executions to refill your health, strong melee attacks to take out multiple enemies at once and of course sniping, that deliver that oh so satisfying slow motion animation seeing your bullet leave your rifle, fly down range and see a zombie enter x-ray mode to see where exactly your bullet hit and what it destroyed inside of zombie.

Hitler and his horde are back and more terrible than ever, so get ready to dive into the forces of darkness in corpse-riddled canals, survive a Zombie Zoo, and journey to dark, inexplicable places no person has been before and lived to tell the tale!. Choose your character and get ready to start blasting, you have Karl Fairburne – an elite sniper who has killed Hitler at least once and is itching to put him back in the grave again. Shola – a skilled engineer with a knack for dispatching the undead, an asset needed for a great team. Jun – A former diplomat and selfless team player ready to send the undead hordes back to hell. Finally, Boris – A former prisoner who has sent Hitler back to hell once and is looking to do it again.

Zombie Army 4: Dead War only supports online co-op play. Up to four players can work together to overcome the game’s nine campaign missions and four horde maps.

My time playing ZA4 which includes both story mode and the horde modes I spent well over 20 plus hours enjoying this fun but challenging game.

What makes this game stick out from the other rabble of zombie games: physics, when sniping there are a number of other factors that have to be taken into consideration such as gravity when the target is further away, bullet drop, muzzle velocity, as well as stamina. You can’t use sprint indefinitely so every time you sprint, you’re using up stamina, which in turn effects how steady your shot will be, making for very intense and interesting undead encounters.

As far as bugs go very rarely did I run into any, being a hot marker not registering or my empty lung marker bouncing all around my screen. As I stated bugs were rare as they are far spaced and not very often and more importantly non-game breaking.

The games audio is really incredible, the music gives an ominous feel as you track across heavily zombie infested areas, and also the way your gunshots sound from your rifles to your secondary weapons and your side arms, each one sounding unique. You can feel the power behind each shot, especially when your shot obliterates a zombie and the wet squelch as a round punches through a zombie’s head and into its brain.

Visually the game is beautiful, being able to run very smooth at 4K, at a very crisp frame rate with no sound or video lag, with what looks like an old school film filter that gives the game an old school Egor Karloff movie feel, which I found spectacular. So, with the awesome visuals, the epic music and audio, this is a recipe for a remarkable game.

ZA4 was a great experience and one that I highly recommend to anyone wanting a crazy fast paced zombie shooter that sticks out from the rest and poses a challenge.
