‘The One’ signs the first in a series of singles Xelavate plans to release this year featuring different artists. Born from a studio session with pianist and producer Theo T.O. Davis, the single features Ronnie Winters, an upcoming vocalist who has collaborated with Trapwave icon M Huncho on his album, as well as featuring on Billy da Kid ‘I don’t Wanna Know’.

Talking about the track, Xelavate says: “Theo and I’s vibes blended instantly in the studio, allowing us to produce a fresh cut. The jumpy rhythms and bold drums of ‘The One’ are what brings great life to the song. I started writing the topline for the chorus on my own, before connecting with Ronnie, who, inspired by the song, quickly added his lyrics and soulful vocals to the track.”

Xelavate grew up surrounded by countless musical influences, rhythm is seemingly embedded into his bones, he first picked up drum sticks at the age of five. His versatile production style mixes his strong songwriting skills with his passion for drumming. Working from his own studio in North London, the young producer has learnt some of his craft shadowing production duo iLL BLU (MoStack, J Hus, Dave) and multi-Platinum songwriter and producer Joe Garrett (Zayn‘s ‘Pillowtalk’), among others.
