World War Z: Aftermath Xbox Series S Review

World War Z: Aftermath is the ultimate co-op zombie shooter based on Paramount Pictures’ blockbuster film, and the next evolution of the original hit World War Z that has now captivated over 20 million players. Turn the tide of the zombie apocalypse across consoles and PC with full cross-play. Join up to three friends or play on your own with AI teammates against hordes of ravenous zombies in intense story episodes across new zombie-ravaged locations around the world: Rome, Vatican City and Russia’s Kamchatka peninsula.

I was able to play World War Z through my Xbox Games Pass Ultimate account. I was able to download the game, it was a bit hefty and took some good amount of space which was 30 GB. All good though, cause the game is pretty damn good. The graphics reminded me of playing on my iPhone. I felt this is an app game that was ported to my console for additional gaming. Well…they got the game right! I had a lot of fun playing each city with my team and just trying to survive.

Our Thoughts

Pro:

  • Weapons
    • I enjoyed the various weapons used throughout each city while playing World War Z. I literally went around shooting zombies and switching my guns to try them out against them. Some weapons exceled very well, yet others failed and got me killed lol. Either way, the bigger weapons like machine guns were pretty cool.
  • Different Cities
    • The best feature in the game is playing in various cities against the zombies. I was able to play Moscow, Tokyo, and other cities with my team. I was able to see how each city fared against the zombies with their weapons and environment. It was pretty damn cool!

Con:

  • Online non existent
    • I tried to play online in a co op battle but I was in queue for about 3 minutes but no response. I exited out and continued with the game I had played earlier. I was hoping to meet other people and play with them but no one was available. I played the game a few times throughout the day and this was my recurrent theme.

Rating: 9 out of 10
