NEW SINGLE ‘DISTANT LOVE’– JULY 24TH
‘Distant Love’ is the latest single from London alternative-pop artist Alto Key. The powerful and emotive song explores themes of internal conflict and dependency. Over the past year, Alto Key has built a dedicated, engaged audience on TikTok with over 180k followers and over 3M likes. As well as fans, the industry have shown huge support, with Alto Key receiving great praise from BBC Introducing, awarded Best Lyrics in Folk at the Indie Originals 2019 Music Competition and now a semi-finalist in the Unsigned Only Music Competition.
‘Distant Love’ is arguably his best release to date. The relatable lyrics are framed through the lens of a long-distance relationship, something a lot of couples have had to endure during lock down. However, the concepts of freeing yourself from expectation and cyclic behaviours are also explored on a deeper level which will appeal to those feeling trapped and struggling with their mental health.
Speaking more on the track, Alto Key explained: I wrote this song when struggling in a long-distance relationship. At the time I was feeling trapped, dependent and unable to move on which wore on me internally. Given everything that has happened in the world since then regarding the pandemic, the lyrics feel more relevant than ever as we’ve all taken a toll to protect the ones we love by maintaining our distance.
Distant love is set to release July 24th on all streaming platforms.
