When I heard there was going to be a new V/H/S film, I was overjoyed! I’m a big fan of the V/H/S franchise and been watching them since they first came out. In this series, I’m more excited as they will dive into the supernatural aura of Aliens. I’m a big sci fi fan so knowing they are going to showcase shorts of anything aliens related got my heart thumping hard!
We were able to get a screening link to watch V/H/S Beyond on Shudder. I was able to turn the lights off and watch the movie in pure darkness. (Like it should be done!). The movie starts of discussing the history of aliens and receiving tapes that showcase the best evidence of those outer space creatures. Then it goes into the first tape where a few officers have a score to settle with someone that is stealing young infants. The rookie is in charge of the camera to film what they will do and find any evidence of those missing children. When they arrive at the home, they are met with a surprise with these people that attack them and have bandages hiding something that is missing in their heads. I’m not going to spoil much, but this one is a good one! There is a lot of gore in each short that is shown in Beyond that will make you gleam with excitement. The gore is well placed and gives more terror in the story for each short that will have you gasping for air.

Pro:
- Aliens
- In this edition of V/H/S, they go into detail of the history of aliens, alien stories, and abductions. There is a UFO chase, crash, investigation, and much more. There is an episode that reminds me of previous lore I’ve heard of alien abductions that watching on the screen brings a shiver to my beard.
- Lots of Gore
- Oh this one is very Gorey! Lots of body parts being flung around, some mutilations, and of course face peeling. I know y’all dig that and will watch this with popcorn in your mouth.
