MAIN EVENT: KNOPIC VS KALINOWSKI FOR THE INNERGEEKDOM TITLE:

Kalinowski and Knopic have a storied history. In 2018, Mike Kalinowski was responsible for getting the league to do the first ever Innergeekdom division tournament featuring 16 competitors. Kalinowski and former competitor and MTS legend Rachel Cushing were the two favorites to win the tournament. Unknown rookie “The Amazing” Mara Knopic entered the tournament. At the time, Mara was only known as Dan Murrell’s girlfriend but everything was about to change. Mara quickly won her first two matches and then shocked everyone when she eliminated Rachel Cushing in Sudden Death. The stakes were set for her and Kalinowski in the finals with Mike being the  heavy favorite. Mike missed his 5 point question and Mara won the tournament with an opportunity to face then champion Jason Inman for the IG title. Mara defeated Inman and became the first woman to ever win an individual title in the history of Movie Trivia Schmoedown.

Mara Knopic faced Mike Kalinowski again at the Schmoedown Spectacular 3 with Mike winning with a Sudden Death victory. That was December 2018. Mara stepped away from the game while Mike went on losing the title to Rachel Cushing but then regained the title. He lost it again at Schmoedown Spectacular 4 to Kevin Smets and has been making his way back to the title since then.

Mara Knopic announced that she would return in 2019 but due to health issues and scheduling she could not compete. She was promised a title shot upon her return and she competed against the heavily favored champion Chandru Dhandapani in February 2021 to start Season 8. Mara didn’t miss a beat as she defeated Chandru for the title.

This will be one of the biggest matches in Schmoedown and in the Innergeekdom Division.

UNDERCARD: “Lady Justice” Marisol Mckee (3-1) VS. Jeannine The Machine (5-6, 3 KO)

Both Marisol and Jeannine are fan favorites and are currently on a  two week winning streak. The winner of this match will face Kevin Smith at our big Summertime event, The Collision in a #1 ranked contender match.

Marisol Mckee was discovered in the crowd at an Orlando event, when after a Q&A, a fan said that his friend would be great in the league and that they were missing out on a star. The fan was right and in her sophomore season, Lady Justice has become one of the must see stars of MTS.

Jeannine the Machine is in her fourth season in the league and captured the hearts of the fans and paved the way for many women who entered the league after she did.
