The Stylist Film Review

As a fan of indie horror, I was excited to watch Jill Gevargizian film The Stylist. A tale of a killer hairstylist with some deep-rooted problems staring Najarra Townsend (Claire) and Brea Grant (Olivia). Claire seems to be a normal city hairdresser but she hides a lust for killing women for their hair. Saving it and waring it later and quoting their words they would say while sitting in her chair.

One of her things she does not like to do is the bride’s hair and she is pulled into Olivia’s wedding and things take a deep dive fast. Claire in her twisted mind reads the interaction with Olivia as something more than just a friendly business thing. In Claire’s mind, she is now embedded in Olivia’s life and things get dark fast. Making for an ending that is shocking and twisted.

A very done indie horror film from Jill looking into this film it is a longer version of a short film Jill did in 2016. Starring Najarra Townsend as Claire in my book is perfect for the role she owns and gives off the vibes that the role needed. She just embodies the look and brings Claire to life. The cinematography was beautifully shot and brings the film to life.

Overall I get the vibe this film will have a cult following like films by the Soska sisters. Will become a staple in any horror fan’s collection. Check this one out with a bottle of red wine (merlot) inside joke you will understand once you watch the film.
