SAN ANTONIO (August 24, 2026) – The Rock at La Cantera today announced its new “Rocktober” programming coming to campus this fall, which will feature a handful of themed movie showings, live musical performances and seasonal entertainment all month long. Rocktober will tip off on Thursday, October 1 and culminate in a comprehensive Halloween Spooktacular on the 31st, with multiple themed events taking place on campus each week. PUMPKIN PALOOZA – OCTOBER 17
On Saturday, October 17, The Rock will host a full day of free programming to celebrate the fall season, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Attendees can look forward to enjoying live music all day, themed fall photo ops, pumpkin painting, seasonal crafts and a pumpkin carving contest. Fun, themed games like pumpkin bowling, pumpkin tic-tac-toe, stein holding contests, a pretzel toss and more will be open for all attendees looking for some friendly competition. Pumpkin Palooza is free and open to all ages.
COYOTE’S CORN CORRAL PRESENTED BY BRIGHT EVENT RENTALS
Opening on the day of Pumpkin Palooza and running through Sunday, November 8, The Rock will feature Coyote’s Corn Corral, presented by Bright Event Rentals, a charming and unique corn play pit on Frost Plaza, giving attendees an authentically autumnal experience. This interactive attraction will be open each day from 12 – 9 p.m. on weekends and 4 – 9 p.m. on weekdays for all ages, with ticket purchase. HALLOWEEN SPOOKTACULAR – OCTOBER 31
To close out the month with a fright, The Rock will host this free Halloween party on Saturday, October 31. The event will include a wide variety of themed treats available at Ice Ice Dady and Roca & Martillo, like a “Vampire’s Punch” mocktail, “Devil’s Deviled Egg,” spooky charcuterie, Jack Skellington’s Snowcone and more. The night will include trick or treating, a costume contest and holiday crafting. The event begins at 6 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m. and is open to all ages.
Additional highlights in the Rocktober slate of events include:
- RockFit Monster Mashup – This free fitness class will put a spooky spin on the popular rockFit series on Friday, October 2 with the first-ever nighttime classes, in collaboration with OrangeTheory and Discover Strength. Attendance is free and open to all experience levels, with programming beginning at 7 p.m. An exclusive rockFit pre-fixe dinner at Roca & Martillo can be purchased for $25.
- Howl-O-Ween – On Saturday, October 24, dog parents and their furry friends are invited to this pet-friendly holiday gathering. This event will include trick or treating for dogs, local pet vendors, themed photo ops, a costume contest, an adoption station from SNIPSA and more. Dogs and their owners are encouraged to dress their best in their favorite Halloween costume for this event from 4 – 6 p.m.
- Fall Flix Movie Screenings – The Rock will host “Fall Flix” to spotlight fan-favorite fall films. This three-day series will take place from Wednesday, October 28 through Friday, October 30 with the nightly screening schedule as follows: “Hotel Transylvania,” “Twilight” and a “Hocus Pocus” double feature. All movie screenings will be free and open to all ages.
- Sunday Scaries Music Series – Each Sunday in October will be headlined by the Sunday Scaries series, featuring a happy hour and live music. Themed cocktails like “apple pie martinis” plus wine and beer options will be available for purchase for adults 21+. Attendees can look forward to hearing from a different musical artist each Sunday. Event attendance is free and open to all ages, with programming tipping off each Sunday at 2 p.m. and running until 6 p.m.
