PARIS, FRANCE – June 27, 2024 – Gameloft, a leader in the development and publishing of games, and HarperCollins Productions, an award-winning media production company within HarperCollins Publishers, today announced that The Oregon Trail™, the multiple award-winning official successor to the global phenomenon, is heading to the Epic Games Store and GOG.com on July 4th, as well as releasing a special physical Deluxe Edition on Nintendo Switch and PS5®on July 18th.
In The Oregon Trail, players are put at the center of all the trials and tribulations of the journey westward. They must stock their wagon, choose their traveling party, and make sure they all arrive safely to Oregon by making tough choices in dangerous and unexpected situations. Players will also learn the real history behind the trail, including Native American stories, which is a first in the franchise.
Launching on July 4th, the Epic Games Store and GOG.com versions of the game bring all five previous Apple Arcade content updates, events, visual filters, and accessibility options, such as an updated high contrast mode that increases the visibility of certain elements to better assist players with low vision. Players wanting to wishlist the game can do so here for Epic Games Store. To celebrate the release on both platforms, the game will be discounted by 40% on both Epic Games Store, GOG.com, and Steam.
Fans of physical editions will get the chance to hold gaming history in their hands with two exclusive Deluxe Editions for PS5 and Nintendo Switch. Each edition includes the full game, the Cowboys and Critters DLC, reversible cover art, 3 exclusive art cards (PS5), and 3 exclusive reversible postcards (Nintendo Switch). Both Deluxe Editions will be released on July 18th for an MSRP OF $39.99 and will be available at all major retailers.
