Enter the world of Middle-earth with The One Ring™, the official tabletop roleplaying game based on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien. Designed specifically to evoke the atmosphere of The Hobbit™ and The Lord of the Rings™, the game contains rules for creating heroes and sending them off on adventures in a land threatened by the growing Shadow.
This beautifully illustrated, full-colour hardcover manual presents Middle-earth as it was twenty years after Bilbo Baggins’ remarkable disappearance and unexpected return. The great events narrated in The Lord of the Rings™ are still fifty years away, leaving plenty of room to narrate stories worthy of an epic.
We were able to get a review copy of The One Ring Moria Through The Doors of Durin to try out. I was able to do a quick unboxing of what you would see inside of this copy of The One Ring. My friends and I were able to look at the map and go through the rules. We decide on our characters and take the journey. There is a lot to unwrap here with the mission planning, lore, and more to the point there is an appendix in the book. I’m not going to spoil much, but I have to say that you NEED TO GET THIS GAME! I’m not joking as your imagination will be reignited with each play with your friends. You will need to dedicate weekends to play Moria with friends and family. There is so much to talk about that would spoil on how rich the story is in Moria.
Pro:
- Map
- The map that comes with the game is huge for everyone to see where they are going throughout the game. The amount of detail the artists did with this map is just amazing. This has given my imagination a spin on the wheel as I’m thinking of my voyage with my characters.
- Solo Mode
- The solo mode in this game is fantastic and huge! You create your character and also a team of explorers that will go with you and you also control. There is a lot of mission planning here with your character and team yet the journey is mind blowing!
