Los Angeles, CA (Sept. 8, 2026) – Visionary outfit The Mars Volta have unveiled “Reina Tormenta / Enlazan Las Tinieblas,” an incandescent new single that transports listeners directly into the heart of the band’s formidable stage show. Serving as a crucial preview of their forthcoming album, Lucro Sucio; Unfinished Business, the release arrives just as the iconic group launches its North American fall tour at the Majestic Ventura Theater in Ventura, California, on September 8.
Recorded during the band’s acclaimed fall 2025 tour, “Reina Tormenta / Enlazan Las Tinieblas” exemplifies the uninhibited, dark, and hypnotic sonic palette that has defined The Mars Volta for over two decades. Driven by surging synth arrangements, propulsive percussion, and razor-sharp guitar work, the track underscores the group’s legendary onstage chemistry and commitment to raw improvisation.
The single offers an immersive glimpse into the upcoming album “Lucro Sucio; Unfinished Business,” set for release on November 20.
Following their tour opener in Ventura, the band’s North American run spans key markets across Arizona, Texas, Kentucky, Florida, and the Carolinas. Highlights include a stadium performance alongside My Chemical Romance at San Antonio’s Alamodome on September 12, a festival performance at Louisville’s Louder Than Life on September 20 and will return to Mexico November 28th to perform at Tecate Comuna and a headlining show at Mexico City’s Pepsi Center WTC on November 29.
“Reina Tormenta / Enlazan Las Tinieblas” is available now across all digital streaming platforms.
