The Dead and the Drunk: Shoot and drink your way through zombie apocalypse in the free content update of Broken Lines!

Publisher Super.com and developer PortaPlay, the duo behind the alternate-history World War II title Broken Lines, are back to announce the game’s free expansion, The Dead and the Drunk. Broken Lines is a narrative-driven tactics game about a group of misfit soldiers stranded behind enemy lines, surrounded by an ominous fog and hunted by masked troops. In The Dead and the Drunk, the same old group of misfits will be up against all-new challenges, and they’re going to need your help once again.

The dead are rising from their graves! Now our heroes must face hordes of reanimated corpses as well as the ruthless masked troops, in a three-sided conflict that the squad sure as hell didn’t sign up for! The situation is more than a sane, sober soldier can handle, and nobody would blame them for cowardly running away and never coming back. But the local trader Izkor has a solution for their lack of spirit, and it’s alcoholic enough to catch fire. With Izkor’s suspicious cocktail fueling them, the soldiers are drunk, they’re pumped, they’re driven, they’re angry – but at least they’re not dead! …yet.

Broken Lines: The Dead and the Drunk features the same critically acclaimed tactical gameplay, with a tough new challenge added to the mix. In this three-way conflict, the soldiers will be facing hordes of enemies both old and new, with improved AI and spawning randomly in the levels, so no two playthroughs will be exactly the same. But don’t panic, the soldiers you control have new mechanics, weapons, and utilities to make use of as well. Experiment with the new Loadout system and revamped difficulty settings to your heart’s content – but no matter what you choose, and no matter how often your squad is nearly wiped, remember to keep calm shooting and carry on!

The Dead and the Drunk is a free content update for the PC version of the game. It’s scheduled for release on December 14th.

Broken Lines available on Steam, GOG, and Nintendo Switch™.
