Surfing The Waves To Corpus Christi Comic Con

The city of Corpus Christi is known for their close oceanic frontage, good food, and of course a nice vacation destination. This weekend, the city had their alter ego showcased and transformed their culture into a comic con voyage. In this article, we show the fun they had for day 1 of the convention.

When we got to the American Bank Center, we didn’t realized we were the ones late to the convention. The parking spots was all taken as we drove around the area looking for parking. We were able to find parking but nearly a few blocks of walking was endured. When we got inside, we were able to get our passes fast and efficiently and then we entered the convention floor. We were greeted with thousands of fans of our culture just enjoying themselves. We saw so many happy faces from not only families but people attending. This was just 5 minutes walking into the convention barely getting the experience of the convention under our brows.

We were able to see one of our favorite artists today at the convention. We have seen him at many cons but today we were finally able to get an interview with him! Art by Ramos is an amazing artist that has an art that transcends our imagination. We were excited to be able to talk to him and see his art being showcased at the convention.

The guests at this con had a who’s who’s list for people to meet at a convention. They are headlined by the man himself, Barry Williams of the The Brady Bunch fame. Who isn’t a fan of Greg Brady!?! We were able to talk to and interview Guardians of the Galaxy stars Sean Gunn and Chris Sullivan at the convention. They were very cool people and had some great stories to tell!

This convention had an amazing gaming area that had fans celebrating and competing against each other. Hebi Studios are at the forefront as an Indie Developer and they had fans coming by the droves to play their own games and of course having a Mortal Kombat 11 tournament. Quasars Arcade was there with some awesome arcades and had fans playing some classics as well as showcasing their inner geek on the gaming floor.Ā  We were able to talk to Peter the owner and just be in awe are what they are doing in the gaming scene for Corpus Christi. Waves Gaming Lounge was there as well showcasing their esport’s training center and gaming area at the convention! We didn’t realize they had a esports training center in Corpus and just talking to the “Godfather” himself, was just astonishing and great fun.
