Surf7‘s tumbling flow and off-kilter punchlines have won him a growing fanbase in his hometown of Philly and admiration from some of his city’s best rappers. The 20-year-old emcee continues his rise, and the road to his upcoming debut mixtape, with “Get In Mode,” a new lyrical exercise. In and out in only 76 seconds, Surf has plenty of time to flex his signature witticisms and run-on bars, weaving between soulful vocal samples to flex his growing bankroll and expensive taste in designer: “In the back of the ‘Bach and I’m blowin’ cookie, dawg, driver catch the smoke/N**** what the f*ck is 50, dawg, I want the whole hundo,” he spits. In the video, Surf takes his twin Escalades to a secluded location, where he collects his cash in his Louie and Goyard bags and puffs lye in the luxurious backseat.

“Get In Mode” continues a torrid summer for Surf7, which started when he released “GOOSE COAT.” One of the top viral rap hits of the summer, the song inspired a fast-spreading push-up trend, leading to more than 1 million TikTok creations and 5 million cross-platform streams. the song got another boost earlier this summer, when Philly’s own Meek Mill gave his stamp of approval and hopped on the remix (over 1 million total plays and 650k YouTube views to date). A brand new addition to the scene, Surf7 continued to prove himself indispensable with singles like the ruminative “7AM in NY,” and the fiery “FRM DA JETZ.” Earlier this month, Surf treated his fans to a new 2-pack, “Model S Music” / “Part 1,” released exclusively on SoundCloud before seeing wide release. Surf7 joined Loe Shimmy on stage during the Philadelphia stop of his tour, as the two artists ripped push-ups and performed “GOOSE COAT” in front of an energetic hometown crowd.
