Splitgate Pro Series’ tremendous expansion continues in its first year

Zephyr Cove, NV (May 9, 2021) – 1047 Games, developer and publisher of the free online portal shooter Splitgate, announced today that Amazon Prime Gaming has joined the Splitgate Pro Series as its presenting sponsor. Additionally, professional teams Luminosity, SSG, eUnited, T1, XSET and Moist Esports have been added to the Pro Series’ roster and will begin competing starting with the Summer Season in June 2022. Produced by Logitech G Esports Services, the Splitgate Pro Series increases its 2022 prize pool to $500,000.

 

In connection with this sponsorship, Amazon Prime Gaming is giving Prime Gaming members access to exclusive and rare monthly content drops for Splitgate through 2022 and allows for greater exposure for newcomers, players and competitors alike, to join the competition. The Splitgate Pro Series, produced by Logitech G Esports Services, has seen significant expansion in its inaugural six months. Splitgate exploded into open beta on PC, Xbox and PlayStation in the summer of 2021, garnering more than 17 million downloads from players around the world. Developer 1047 Games secured more than $100 million in funding last year in order to expand the development team to strategically grow Splitgate into a world-class AAA game ahead of its official 1.0 launch. Development leads from some of the biggest companies in gaming, including Bungie, Riot, EA, and Activision, have joined 1047 Games to work on Splitgate. Now a world-class development studio, 1047 is committed to creating a robust AAA offering for gamers around the world.

The Winter 2022 Splitgate Pro Series kicked off February 5th & 6th with all matches broadcasted live on Twitch.tv/Splitgate. It concluded March 27 with Portal Demons taking home the top prize.

 

The first Season of 2022 introduced the Splitgate Challengers Series, a collection of events providing an official path towards becoming a professional Splitgate player. The challenger seasons feature Open Ladder Play on PlayBeyond.com, and are open to all Splitgate competitors not currently participating in the Pro Series Regular Season. The top players from the Challengers Series have a chance to compete in a playoff tournament for a $5,000 prize pool, as well as participate in Relegation for the chance to steal a Pro team spot and join the next season of the Pro Series.
