Space Jam: A New Legacy HBO MAX Review X Link

Space Jam: A New Legacy is out now in Theaters and HBO MAX! Lebron puts on a different kind of jersey for this new movie by Warner Brothers!

I was able to watch the movie on HBO MAX using my Xbox Series S console this morning. I sat down while eating some McDonalds to enjoy this new movie. I have to say I liked it, there was some things here and there that irked me, but all in all, it was good. I decided to do a review below with a few spoilers but I have to say, be sure to watch this movie with your family and enjoy it!

SPOILER ALERT!!!

Here is the review:

Pro:

  • Warner IPs
    • I liked how Lebron and Bugs went through a few of the huge library of IP’s that Warner owns to find their team! They went through DC Universe, Game of Thrones and much more! I liked how they could have had anyone on the team but chose to stick with the team they knew best.
  • Story
    • Lebron and his son get sucked into the Serververse by a computer generated AI. The AI uses his knowledge on their relationship to split them apart and have them play against each other in a game called Dom Ball. The game is an actual video game that is created by Lebron’s son Dom. Lebron is sent to the “losers” world which is Toon World and meets Bugs Bunny. Together, they search through all of Warner Bros to find a team that will help them beat the Goon Squad.
  • Game
    • The actual video game created to use in the movie is pretty cool! Reminds me a lot of NBA Jam but with an updated use in the game. This would be pretty cool if they made this into a game we can play on our consoles!

Con:

  • Michael Jordan
    • I was hoping not only a full scene with Michael Jordan but a Billy Murray effect where he will jump into the game for a bit. I was quite disappointed on that.
  • Iconic Music
    • In the first Space Jam, we had “Fly Like an Eagle” and “I Believe I Can Fly, which these two songs created a long lasting memory of that movie for a generation. In this movie, it had no iconic music that would generate that memory for a new generation.

Rating: 8 out of 10
