Sometimes, life can feel completely overwhelming – especially when you’re young and trying to find your own way. ‘Bad Day’ is written on that feeling. Somewhere between emotional chaos to the realization and acceptance of the fact that life is not a straight line.
“It’s never healthy to ignore your own feelings. I learned that the hard way, when everything was just piling up inside. It wasn’t until I wrote the words down in a song that I could see what was really going on and ‘Bad Day’ became my wake-up call – a help to myself and as a reminder, that life is so much more than just a bad day,” Samuel says. Lea continues:
“Everyone handles difficult situations differently. While it can be intimidating to share your innermost thoughts with someone else it’s important to do so. We hope that ‘Bad Day’ can help others in the same way it helped us.”
21-year old Lea and 23-year old Samuel are ORA. They are siblings and alike, yet diametrically opposed. When they write, record and produce their music together, they tap into a dynamic energy of their own that is both introverted and extroverted, melancholic and uplifting, curious and irresistible.
ORA, which is their grandmother’s name meaning “sunlight”, released a sketches-EP, ‘The Demos’, in 2022. ‘Bad Day’ is their first official release introducing an exciting new act to the Nordic scene whose sound and presence is as sparkly and bright as the meaning of their name – and more is to come from ORA in 2024…
