San Antonio Spurs & Methodist Healthcare Celebrate 10 Years of Partnership with Giveaway for San Antonio Newborns

SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 1, 2026) – Today, the San Antonio Spurs and Methodist Healthcare celebrated the 10-year anniversary of their longstanding partnership, marking a decade of working together to support families and strengthen the San Antonio community through meaningful programs, special events and memorable milestones. To commemorate the anniversary, the organizations unveiled a limited-edition co-branded blanket that will be given to newborns at Methodist Healthcare hospitals this year, while supplies last.

SHARED CARE FOR COMMUNITY

For more than a decade, Methodist Healthcare and Spurs Sports & Entertainment have partnered to make a lasting impact across San Antonio, bringing together two organizations united by a shared commitment to community well-being. As the official healthcare system of the San Antonio Spurs and San Antonio FC, Methodist Healthcare has worked alongside Spurs Sports & Entertainment to support local families, promote healthier lives and create meaningful connections throughout the region.

From fan-favorite traditions such as the Spurs Ball Kid Program, in-game baby races and Spurs summer youth basketball camps to educational and leadership development opportunities for young people, the partnership has consistently focused on creating memorable experiences that encourage confidence, teamwork and personal growth. The collaboration has also made a profound difference inside Methodist Healthcare facilities, where Spurs players, coaches and team representatives have brought moments of joy, hope and encouragement to patients, families and healthcare professionals.

Beyond hospital walls, Methodist Healthcare and Spurs Sports & Entertainment have joined forces on initiatives that strengthen communities across South Texas. Together, they have championed cancer awareness campaigns, Heart Month activations that have trained more than 4,000 community members in Hands-Only CPR, annual holiday programs that deliver decorated Christmas trees and wreaths to local families, school supply drives and educational outreach programs focused on lifesaving skills and health awareness.

“For the past decade, our partnership with Spurs Sports & Entertainment has been about a shared commitment to South Texas,” said Dan Miller, President and CEO of Methodist Healthcare. “Whether it’s bringing joy to a patient on one of their hardest days, connecting with and learning from our care teams, or helping our community make informed choices about their health, the Spurs have been there alongside us. We’re grateful for their partnership over the past 10 years and look forward to all we can continue to do together for South Texas.”

“Methodist Healthcare is an outstanding example of what it means to be a mission-driven organization, with its world class doctors and staff working tirelessly to improve health outcomes in our city and provide comprehensive family care,” said Frank Miceli, chief commercial officer at Spurs Sports & Entertainment. “Over the past ten years we’ve seen our partnership come to life in so many special ways, through youth sports, patient visits and more, and we look forward to many more years of working together to positively impact the health and happiness of our San Antonio community.”
