“Last year we welcomed 5,112 attendees – our biggest turnout yet! That included over 500 game developers and companies like Bose who brought 141 playable games and 31 content debuts among other exclusive experiences to the weekend-long convention,” said Dan Butchko, Founder and CEO of Playcrafting and the convention organizer. “Every year, it’s our goal to make Play NYC the place where creators, brands and fans can connect and experience every facet of gaming in ways only the Big Apple can offer. We can’t wait to build on that effort in 2020.”

Play NYC’s show floor provides a crossroads of games in all formats and platforms (mobile, PC, tabletop, VR, AR) from companies and game creators of all kinds. Exhibitors include emerging game studios like Decoy Games, Petricore and Juncture Media to world-renowned triple-A studios and companies like Devolver Digital, Avalanche Studios and Bose. Solo developers and student projects presented by organizations like Curious Visions, Other Moon Games and Games for Change have also joined the Play NYC roster, adding to the diversity of the exhibitor line-up.

In 2020, attendees will also be met with a fresh look and feel, as well as more exclusive games, immersive experiences and Play NYC’s first live tournament and industry-facing content.

About Playcrafting

Playcrafting is the largest network of game developers in New York and one of the biggest in the United States. Started as a small Meetup group in 2009, the organization has grown to 30,000 strong across the U.S. From design and programming to business and beyond, developers come to Playcrafting to sharpen their skills and partner with companies that help them succeed. The organization’s hands-on classes lower the barrier for entry for anyone to get started making games and to empower pros to level up their skills. Playcrafting hosts everything from local gatherings like Expos and Demo and Plays to industry-recognized annual events like Play NYC and the largest Global Game Jam site in the U.S. The organization offers over 100 courses and events annually, and partners with companies like Bose, Facebook, IBM, Verizon, the NFL, among others, to unlock the power of game creators and generate brand new games that weren’t otherwise possible.
