Nuevo Elemento, Regional Mexican music’s first boy band, injects youthful energy into norteño classic “Ojos Negros.” This single and lyric video are available from all digital streaming platforms and YouTube.
“Ojos Negros” was first recorded in 1952 by Los Donneños, a pioneering Tex-Mex duo and was written by the group’s bajo sexto player Ramiro Cavazos. This timeless romantic song takes on new life with norteño-ranchera arrangements and the lively lead vocals and harmonies of the four members of Nuevo Elemento. Renowned composer and Latin GRAMMY®-winner Luciano Luna serves as producer.
The lyrics of “Ojos Negros” transport us to old-fashioned romance, where the protagonist expresses sweet sentiments about his loved one: “they say that dark eyes never betray, and that they keep their promise if they speak to you of love”.
“Ojos Negros” follows on the heels of the group’s original single and video “Un Amor Bonito.” The previous three singles by the group are “Cómo Pude Estar Tan Ciego,” their cover of the 2003 Banda El Recodo hit; the lovely ranchera ballad “Mía,” which has surpassed 1.2 million YouTube views; and “No Andes Con Nadie.” This track reached the Top 35 of the Billboard Regional Mexican Airplay chart and earned the group two nominations at the 2021 Premios Juventud. All five of these songs are to be included on the group’s debut EP 4 Sueños 1 Realidad, to be released in November, In celebration of the group’s first anniversary.
Nuevo Elemento comprises four energetic singers – Héctor Osobampo, Alejandro “Bebo” Garfías, Danny Rea and Yahir “Choco” Garduño.
Stacked with talent, Nuevo Elemento promises to dazzle Regional Mexican fans in the months and years to come. While the guys come from different regions, they are united by their passion for music.
