The anonymous duo, nightswimX, has put a new spin on Nirvana’s 1991 hit, “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” The energy that nightswimX echoes is of a classic dark thriller/horror movie. They bring their fans on an exciting roller coaster ride of pulsing beats and melody. nightswimX takes inspiration from chicago-house and bass house, fitting in somewhere today’s pop culture. With recognition from Zedd, Dillon Francis, GRiZ and more, this new secret pair will be on everyone’s radar starting this summer.

nightswimX decided to cover this song because one of their younger siblings had never heard “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana. The duo had figured that this was probably the case with others around the same age. They decided to spin the song into their own version that kids growing up in this generation could appreciate. They hope that their take on this classic captures both original Nirvana fans and nightswimX fans. 

This is the second single to come from the hidden duo. nightswimX released their rendition of Kid Cudi’s 2008 hit in “Day ‘N’ Nite” at the end of May which acquired over 100,000 streams within the first month on Spotify. The duo has gained YouTube and Spotify support from Chill Nation, Mr.SuicideSheep, CloudKid, Nightblue Music and many more.
