Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 Xbox Series S Review

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 Xbox Series S Review

I was able to try Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 on my Xbox Series S console using my Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. I never been so frustrated with a game in a long time. I remember hearing about this game through various press releases and what not. I had high hopes for this game to be a Smash hit instead of a cheap knockoff clone. I enjoyed they used the Nickelodeon characters from shows such as Avatar and Spongebob. The score is higher than it should be due to that. Other than that, I couldn’t finish the game I was playing.

The controls were horrible! I had a rough time navigating my character to attack and move against my opponent. To make matters worse, the movement was slow beyond what I was used to. I have a next gen console that has played games with such frequency that I never notice any type of speed. In this game, I noticed how slow the characters were moving around on my screen. I had to stop playing due to that factor and it wasn’t fun at all.

My thoughts

Pro:

  • Nickelodeon Characters
    • I enjoyed they had characters from various shows that are on Nickelodeon. I played as Spongebob in my first try of the game and it was cool to play as him.

Con:

  • Controls
    • The controls were horrible in the game. I had a difficult time trying to learn the controls to jump, attack, and more. I couldn’t even finish the match as it was taking so much time to try and a get a hit on my opponent.
  • Slow
    • Throughout the match I was in, the character felt so slow moving around. I was getting frustrated trying to move around and jump around and felt like I was on a dial up modem.

Rating: 4 out of 10
