Movie Games teams up with Platige Image, the VFX powerhouse behind iconic cinematics for Ubisoft, Sega and Square Enix, to create 3 crime-themed adventure games set in historical periods and iconic cities. Both companies will create a new studio to develop the potential of the AA / Indie Premium segment.

“We are very happy to work with such a recognized and experienced studio as Platige Image. Combining our development and publishing skills with the creativity and artistry of Platige Image will let us create a new standard in the AA segment. We are convinced that our series of period adventure / crime games will resonate with the gamers globally,” said Piotr Gnyp, Head of Communication at Movie Games.

In the gaming world Platige Image is known for its masterful cinematics for publishers like Ubisoft, Sega, Square Enix, or CD Projekt Red, for such games as The Witcher series, The Division 2, Dying Light 2, Total War: Warhammer II, Frostpunk, and many more. Platige Image also realized Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV, and the visual effects for The Witcher show on Netflix.

Platige Image projects and productions have been frequently featured in festivals around the world, and won some of the highest awards. These include BAFTA, European Film Awards, Goya Awards, SIGGRAPH Awards, and an Academy Award nomination.

“Our talks with Platige Image are going very well. We hope that this collaboration will help the Movie Games family further develop the potential of the AA segment. The company created with Platige Image will expand our AA portfolio with crime adventure games,” said Mateusz Wcześniak, CEO Movie Games.

“We are happy to utilize our competencies and potential for creating top quality content by working together with Movie Games,” said Karol Żbikowski, CEO Platige Image.

The cooperation with Platige Image is the latest endeavor of Movie Games in the AA/Indie Premium segment. In November 2020, the company invested in Brave Lamb Studio. The team of 14 top specialists from the game development industry, formerly associated with such studios as Techland, is creating Field Hospital, a manager of a World War I medical facility located near the frontlines. The players will have to make morally challenging decisions regarding the lives of individual soldiers, the hospital defences as well as its equipment, while managing limited resources.

Field Hospital will be the first next-gen game in the studio’s portfolio. Movie Games is producing the game and will publish it globally.
