Metro Esports Launches Fight for Change Tournament Series
A VIDEO-GAME BATTLE IN THE FIGHT FOR JUSTICE

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – July 27th, 2020 – Metro Esports launches the Fight for Change game tournament series to increase voter registration and to honor the Black Lives Matter movement and host some of the top talent on the esports fight game circuit. The first event of a (3) part series will take place on August 1st and feature Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath. Each month players will clash in a different fighting game.

The schedule is as follows:

August 8th – Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath – Register Here

September 5th – Street Fighter V – Champion Edition

October 3rd – Brawlhalla

Combining intensity with integrity the Fight For Change movement sheds light on statistics which can no longer be ignored. Black people are three times more likely to be killed by police in the U.S. and it is time for a change. Players will be facing off in Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, and For Honor over the course of three events. Top Esports fighting stars like: Perfect LegendNinjaKilla_212, and Flash Metroid will join the tournaments to lend their voices and skills to the cause.

“We are extraordinarily pleased to have Metro Esports partner and run a series of events in support of Gamers.Vote. Their ongoing mission of bringing awareness to social issues through gaming and outreach is an incredible resource to the community,” Robb Chiarini, COO, Gamers.Vote.

In addition to Warner Bros. Games, Metro Esports has also teamed up with, Capcom, Greenlit, and Gamers.vote to get players involved in one of the most important elections of our lifetime.

“Actions always speak louder than words and video gaming, as a platform, has incredible power today in reaching a diverse audience of people unified by their passion for digital competition,” said John Gaudiosi, president and cofounder of Greenlit Content. “Events like Fight for Change can impact the real world by bringing topics like racism and toxicity to the forefront of conversation, while separately encouraging everyone to register to vote and cast their ballots this election and beyond.”

The tournament is free to join and players will have a chance to win the prize pool. “Our primary mission is to support voter registration among a massive on-line community of gamers, while at the same time highlighting the toxic level of racism that exists within esports competition today. Our mission alongside our brand partners is unity and inclusion, and while it’s a given that all lives matter, today it’s the lives of African-American’s that are at a high-degree of risk  from coast to coast. Our hope is to illicit compassion, concern and corrective action” said the event’s creator, Shaon Berry CEO of Metro Esports.

Fight for Change takes what players love best in combat classics and uses the power of esports to support a critical cause in history. Join us now and get involved. There are many ways to join the tournament or support the Black Lives Matter movement across the globe. Help gamers get started.
