(April 2, 2019) DALLAS, TX— FAN EXPO DALLAS (May 3 – 5, 2019) continues their commitment of bringing the best fan experiences to North Texas with their announcement of the Masters of Cosplay International at this year’s event. Featuring special guests from Mexico, Italy, Brazil and the Philippines making their Dallas debut, Fan Expo is giving fans the chance to truly discover what the entire world of cosplay has to offer.
The impressive and growing list of international guests include Liui Aquino, who transformed his life-long love for anime and games with his experience as a model to become a signature online and on the cosplay circuit; Mexican cosplayers Banana Cospboys Luis and Lalo, the duo who won World Cosplay Summit Champions in 2018; Italian Leon Chiro, a professional cosplayer and model from Rome and Brazilian Cosplayer Shermie Cosplay who credits the craft with changing her life; saying “being a part of the cosplay world is like a dream come true.”
“Cosplay is a global phenomenon and we are excited to host some of the best international talent at the show,” said Andrew Moyes, Vice President of FAN EXPO. “The effort and process that goes in to costumes is an artform unto itself and want our fans to experience and interact with the creative minds behind it all. In the end it doesn’t matter if it’s the US, Canada, Brazil, Italy or the Philippines, we all love to cosplay.”
Coupled with a larger than ever, 500- hour cosplay-centered programming track – featuring panels and workshops led by top cosplayers and industry professionals, studio photo opportunities, meet-ups and guest cosplayer interactions, there is no shortage of cosplay for all ages and experience levels at FAN EXPO DALLAS.
With cosplay comes competition and FAN EXPO DALLAS is proud to host, once again, the Central Qualifier for the second annual Masters of Cosplay Grand Prix.
The Masters of Cosplay Grand Prix will be the “not to be missed” event of the year. Set to take place in Toronto on August 24, 2019, the Masters of Cosplay Grand Prix will bring together “Best in Show” winners from each of the qualifying rounds for their chance to compete for the ultimate prize of $5,000 and to be crowned as Fan Expo’s Master of Cosplay Grand Prix Champion.
