I saw down and watched this new show on Hulu titled M.O.D.O.K. from comic book franchise Marvel. I didn’t know what to expect but I opened up a can of beer and ate a muffin while I watched the series. I watched as a villain became lost in the world where the Avengers continue to stop him then losing his wife through a divorce. M.O.D.O.K. gave you that look inside of a villain that wants to conquer the world and still get his child size lasagna platter to eat while on the toilet.
I would say, just don’t read my review but click the link to watch this on Hulu. You have to see it to believe it! I felt I was watching a water down version of something on Adult Swim. I then rewatched it and saw this is something missing from the Marvel Universe that gives fan’s a comical glimpse of a failed villain that keeps on trying and trying. Check it out and see what you think!
Here is the review:
Pro:
- Funny
- I laughed my ass off plain and simple! This show showcased a M.O.D.O.K. that has to live a life of not only failure but having to adapt with a family, friends, and a job. I laughed hard!
- Clay Animation
- I know adult animation is unique and clay animation takes time to develop, but they excelled here. I thought it was funny and different with these characters in that spot. The producers did a fine job telling that story through the clay animation.
- Pushing Boundaries
- With the tag of Marvel, I didn’t expect the show to push some of the boundaries as they did throughout the season. They showed a lot of blood, guts, gore, and a few words here and there in sarcastic form.
Con:
- Not Vulgar Enough
- I think this show is funny and pushes boundaries since its a Disney show but it wasn’t vulgar enough for my tastes. M.O.D.O.K. came of as a tamed show that wouldn’t make it on Adult Swim but does have more potential if they can let some words slip here and there.
