Marriott Westchase Houston Hotel Review

Marriott Westchase hotel is a luxurious hotel in Houston, TX that features comfortability and relaxation. My friends and I went to the Marriott Westchase on July 21 and stayed until July 24th for an event they were hosting there. Our first room was delicious! The room had comfortable beds, huge shower, and nice closet to put our stuff in there. During the night though, I woke up covered in sweat and nearly had a diabetic heat reaction due to the heat. Our air conditioner had broke down during the night in our room. I called the front office to let them know about our AC and they said they were going to send a tech in 10 minutes to fix it. The tech never came to our room, so in the morning, I went to talk to the front office while having trouble breathing due to the heat. They apologized and gave us a different room to go into due to the broke air conditioner in our previous room. The other nights in our new room were smooth as the air conditioner did its job and make sure we were all satisfied with the cool air. The stay did affect me as I had to drink numerous of water and vitamin water type drinks each day to replenish myself due to the heat of that one night.

Other than that, the hotel was fantastic! We were able to check out the the fantastic ballrooms the hotel has as they hosted an event there. The carpeted ballrooms were very large and were able to accommodate thousands of people attending the event. The bar was nice there and had an excellent selection of drinks there. I was able to get a few drinks while enjoying my stay at the hotel. I did a quick review below of the hotel itself and highlighted some cool perks many didn’t know they have.

Pro:

  • Indoor Pool
    • The Indoor pool was amazing! I just couldn’t believe they had a pool that is ventilated and air conditioned! With the record heat going on in Texas at the moment, something like this was needed. My friends and I enjoyed our time in the pool while not getting too much of a tan haha.
  • Huge Atrium
    • When you first walk into the hotel, the lobby is gigantic! When your in the middle of the lobby and look up, the hotel is a huge Atrium. This breath taking view is so amazing from the lobby but looks even more amazing while you look outside your room. With No more stinking parking lots in your view, now you have a view that is gorgeous and luxurious.
  • Buffet Breakfast
    • Each morning, the smell from downstairs was so delicious! My friends and I were able to go eat the buffet breakfast downstairs and it was pretty good. There was a mix of items for everyone including eggs, chorizo and eggs, waffles, bacon, sausage, cereal, yogurt and much more. I had to admit I had a few plates per day as I wanted to try everything there at the hotel.

Con:

  • No Maintenance
    • The first night we stayed our air conditioner had broken down and I nearly had a diabetic heat stroke. They were able to switch my room to another one the next day but when I did call they said maintenance was coming to my room. They never did and I think saw the maintenance guy go to my room the following day go to my old room as it was across from the room I used.
