M.A.R.S Beta Review

M.A.R.S. is a very action-packed PVP that has so much potential to becoming such amazing 3rd person shooter. I had so much fun with this open beta and looking forward to the official release of the game.

Jumping in for the first time had this Time Crisis look back from the 90’s. Now obviously it did not look exactly like a 1995 game but just the theme of the game seemed very familiar to Time Crisis. The tutorial is very easy to learn and you even have the capability to upgrade you weapons and have multiple loadouts.

Now the feel of the game is something I did not expect. The gameplay and controls of this game feel like Gears of War. Even some of the animations picking up weapons is very similar. Now this isn’t a bad thing because I loved how Gears played and I love how they were able to implement the gameplay style to that.

I did have a hard time getting used to the Maps that they had created for this game. Now the map design is very good but I feel that they could be a little larger and they definitely did not need to make your character respawn point in the same place every single time. If the other team were to pin you and your teammates down at the respawn point there is nothing that can really be done. There was a couple matches I was just struggling trying to get the upper hand but it just impossible.

M.A.R.S does have a Horde mode that sets you up at an office building and you have to be able to survive Hordes of monsters with your team. The monsters that were shown had a Resident Evil. I really wanted to understand more into the lore of how the monsters became to be. The mode is a little like Black Ops and easier. I believe that I could SOLO the round by myself.

This game is very addicting after you get a little time to play it. There is plenty to play and enough modes to keep you busy. I am very interested in what is to come from YingPei Games and SubaGames.
