LOS ANGELES AZULES Join Rising Music Sensation, GUAYNAA In New Single “CUMBIA A LA GENTE”

Latin-GRAMMY nominee and rising music sensation, Guaynaa, continues to impress audiences by crossing genres flawlessly. This time, he returns with an all new single and video alongside cumbia legends and largest exponents of the genre worldwide, Los Ángeles Azules, to present “Cumbia a la Gente.” Guaynaa has not been shy to pay homage to Mexican music and culture and this new Cumbia anthem is no exception as it evokes the genre’s traditional tempo and flow.
“This year I’ve been working really hard to explore different types of music and sounds. Having been a fan of Los Ángeles Azules since I was a young kid it was always a dream of mine to be able to collaborate with them. I had a fantastic time putting together this song and creating the video and I hope that it makes everyone want to get up and dance,” said Guaynaa.
“For Los Ángeles Azules, it is always a pleasure to collaborate with the newer generations and share the music that moves us. We feel very happy to present this new song with our friend Guaynaa, and we hope our fans love it. From Iztapalapa to Puerto Rico, to the rest of the world.” commented Los Ángeles Azules
In the video, Guaynaa and Los Ángeles Azules deliver an enigmatic and energetic performance in a traditional supermarket which showcases a charismatic Guaynaa dancing and enjoying himself as he shops through the store. The track encourages us all to get up and dance to the contagious cumbia rhythm.

Jean Carlos Santiago Perez, better known as GUAYNAA, was born in Caguas Puerto Rico. In 2017, after the tragic devastation of Hurricane Maria, Guaynaa released a song titled “Maria” that went viral on all social platforms, where he expressed his anger and frustration at the situation. He went on to release “Rebota” which became a massive success, and the remix featuring Sech, Becky G, Farruko and Nicky Jam landed him on the Billboard Top 10 Chart. In 2020, he received his first Latin Grammy nomination, in the category “Best Reggaeton Performance” for the song “Chicharrón” feat Cauty.
In recent months Guaynaa captivated fans across the globe with his single “Se Te Nota,” alongside Lele Pons, which garnered more than 272 million views on its video. He also released a collaboration with Sebastian Yatra, “Chica Ideal,” who’s video accumulated over 134 million views and has an upcoming collaboration with K-POP sensation Chungha. Last month he released his single and video for “Monterrey” which paid homage to Monterrey, Mexico, and his newest single and video “Cumbia a La Gente” is out now.
Hailing from Iztapalapa, Mexico, Los Ángeles Azules are cumbia’s largest exponents worldwide, having taken their music to the most important stages and international festivals such as Vive Latino and Coachella.
During the past year, despite live events being canceled, the Mejía-Avante siblings continued achieving milestone after milestone and hit after hit. Their most recent album, De Buenos Aires Para el Mundo, debuted #8 on Billboard’s Top Regional Mexican Albums’ Chart, the group’s 12th album to enter the chart’s Top 10. Currently, the album’s music videos surpass 450 million views on YouTube.
Last August, Los Ángeles Azules became the first Mexican group to enter YouTube’s prestigious Billion Views’ Club when the music video for “Nunca Es Suficiente” feat. Natalia Lafourcade reached one billion views. Weeks later, the acclaimed group became the only Mexican act to have 2 videos with over 1 billion views on YouTube when the music video for “Mis Sentimientos” feat. Ximena Sariñana also achieved the milestone.
Earlier this week, following a year without live concerts, Los Ángeles Azules announced their upcoming “40 Años Tour” around the United States. With more than 25 concerts around the country, the tour will begin at the end of August in Corpus Christi, TX and will visit cities such as Dallas, Los Angeles, New York and Chicago, among others, in celebration of the group’s 40-year career.
