ABOUT GUAYNAA:
Jean Carlos Santiago Perez, better known as GUAYNAA, was born in Caguas Puerto Rico. In 2017, after the tragic devastation of Hurricane Maria, Guaynaa released a song titled “Maria” that went viral on all social platforms, where he expressed his anger and frustration at the situation. He went on to release “Rebota” which became a massive success, and the remix featuring Sech, Becky G, Farruko and Nicky Jam landed him on the Billboard Top 10 Chart. In 2020, he received his first Latin Grammy nomination, in the category “Best Reggaeton Performance” for the song “Chicharrón” feat Cauty.
In recent months Guaynaa captivated fans across the globe with his single “Se Te Nota,” alongside Lele Pons, which garnered more than 272 million views on its video. He also released a collaboration with Sebastian Yatra, “Chica Ideal,” who’s video accumulated over 134 million views and has an upcoming collaboration with K-POP sensation Chungha. Last month he released his single and video for “Monterrey” which paid homage to Monterrey, Mexico, and his newest single and video “Cumbia a La Gente” is out now.
ABOUT LOS ÁNGELES AZULES:
Hailing from Iztapalapa, Mexico, Los Ángeles Azules are cumbia’s largest exponents worldwide, having taken their music to the most important stages and international festivals such as Vive Latino and Coachella.
During the past year, despite live events being canceled, the Mejía-Avante siblings continued achieving milestone after milestone and hit after hit. Their most recent album, De Buenos Aires Para el Mundo, debuted #8 on Billboard’s Top Regional Mexican Albums’ Chart, the group’s 12th album to enter the chart’s Top 10. Currently, the album’s music videos surpass 450 million views on YouTube.
Last August, Los Ángeles Azules became the first Mexican group to enter YouTube’s prestigious Billion Views’ Club when the music video for “Nunca Es Suficiente” feat. Natalia Lafourcade reached one billion views. Weeks later, the acclaimed group became the only Mexican act to have 2 videos with over 1 billion views on YouTube when the music video for “Mis Sentimientos” feat. Ximena Sariñana also achieved the milestone.
Earlier this week, following a year without live concerts, Los Ángeles Azules announced their upcoming “40 Años Tour” around the United States. With more than 25 concerts around the country, the tour will begin at the end of August in Corpus Christi, TX and will visit cities such as Dallas, Los Angeles, New York and Chicago, among others, in celebration of the group’s 40-year career.
