LOS ANGELES, July 27, 2024 – Legendary Comics announced today a 3-book graphic novel sequel to Pacific Rim and Pacific Rim Uprising that will pick up on the franchise storyline and take it in bold new directions. With a new cover featuring the likenesses of Charlie Hunnam (Raleigh), John Boyega (Jake Pentecost), and Charlie Day (Newt), Pacific Rim: Final Breach is written by Joshua Fialkov (Netflix’s live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender) with art by E.J. Su (Transformers). Partnering with Rocketship Entertainment, the book trilogy is being pre-sold on Kickstarter paired with exclusive merchandise available only through the campaign. About the Creators:
Joshua Hale Fialkov is an Emmy, Eisner, and Harvey Award-nominated writer of Graphic Novels, Television, Animation, and Video Games. Amongst his credits are The Ultimates, I, Vampire, The Bunker, and the Eisner-nominated Tumor. In television, he served as a writer on shows including Chicago Med, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Young Justice. He also served as the lead writer of the upcoming DC Heroes: United interactive series.
E.J. Su is an artist from Taiwan. Before signing with IDW Publishing as a comic book artist, he worked with Image Comics, where he co-created Tech Jacket with Robert Kirkman, and contributed Transformers art for Hasbro. In 2010, he left the comic book industry to become a full-time industrial designer. He later returned to work as a full-time freelance comic book artist. His love for 70s and 80s properties led him to work on titles such as Transformers, Voltron, Godzilla, and Ultraman for Marvel.
