Kingston XS2000 External SSD 1 TB Review

Size and speed matter do matter in today’s photography and videography content creations. We need to make sure our content is protected as well as shared with lightning speed. We heard about the new Kingston XS2000 External SSD drive that is small yet packs a powerful punch with the drive’s read and write speeds!

We were able to get a review sample of the new Kingston XS2000 External SSD 1 TB drive. I was able to do an unboxing video to see what was inside the packaging. Then, I took the drive on a test on my laptop to copy and paste a folder, look at drive parameters, and do much more!

Our Thoughts

Pro:

  • USB C
    • This external SSD uses USB C or Thunderbolt with read and write speeds up to 2,000MB/S. This is something we always crave as we know fast is always better. In the video above, I have a folder for San Diego Comic Con and we were able to copy and paste this folder into the drive with complete ease. I meant to say faster than a speeding bullet in the past sentence, but I am still in shock by the drive displaying these fast speeds.
  • Water Resistant
    • I am clumsy and yes I have ruined laptops with falling drinks while working on the go. This is pretty neat for me as this drive is water resistant, so you won’t lose your work due to a clumsy mistake. I know people will use this drive to the extremes when they travel and want to make sure its going to hold up in any situation that is presented to them.
  • Small for Traveling
    • My team and I travel all around the country to take professional videos and photographs at all the places we go to. My team always say, we need to have something fast to make sure our content is transferred for editing at lightning speeds. The Kingston XS2000 is built mainly for this situation as size and speed matter in this situation. I can carry something small with our camera equipment that will save us space and weight. I know the guys will dig that hard!
