New York based singer-songwriter Kaitlyn Velez has a deep love for her craft. Launching her series #kaitlyncovers on Instagram this year, she concludes the project with a mashup of Tamia’s “So Into You” and Ariana’s “Into You” – a beautiful showcase of her vocal prowess.

“‘So Into You’ by Tamia is a classic 90’s R&B banger that I’ve loved for so long”, Kaitlyn explains. “I always wanted to cover it but I knew it could possibly be a hit or miss because there could be a possibility kids my age and younger wouldn’t understand just how good the song was. I decided to mash it up with Ariana’s Grande’s pop hit ‘Into You’. The two songs flow so beautifully together and I’m super proud of how this mash up came out!”

Kaitlyn has always had a passion for storytelling. Filling her solo material with bubblegum pop rhythms and shimmering soundscapes, she’s garnered support from Notion, Le Future Wave, Women In Pop and LOCK Magazine for her deeply personal narratives.

Currently studying at Berklee College of Music, Kaitlyn was also named as the winner of “Write Your Legacy”, a mentorship contest established by Reebok and Khalid. The once-in-a-lifetime opportunity invited musicians to share a video explaining what they want their legacy to be and a 60-second sample of their vocal talent, providing an aspiring singer-songwriter the opportunity to be mentored by Khalid and his producers Denis Kosiak and Khyire Tyler.

WIth more music to follow, this creative mash up is further indication of Kaitlyn’s love for pop culture.

Kaitlyn’s cover of “Into You” is set for release November 15th.
