ION unveils tribal-house anthem ‘Homesick’, from upcoming EP ‘Like A Sickness’

The alternative indie artist ION marks a momentous unveiling with his brand new song ‘Homesick’. The third and final single from his highly anticipated forthcoming EP, which we now know to be called: ‘Like A Sickness’, explores perspectives imbued in insanity and spiritual preservation.

‘Homesick’ follows one main principle; to return the use of sound back to its ancient function of ritual. ION twines tribal drums and luscious synths in this aboriginal chant, nurturing a rallying atmosphere devoted to inspiring and encouraging listeners to persevere with their spiritual paths.

The contemporary music performer reaches new artistic heights with this offering. Contributing a fresh perspective to the tribal house genre. One that unites expansive soundscape with occult enthusiasm in unrepressed and liberated vigour.

On the release, ION shares, “I see the song as a ceremonial homecoming, a welcoming back to the indigenous ways that nurtured early human spirituality. A tribal anthem that vitalises our ancient traditions to bring us together in dance and folly, in veneration and reclamation of our vestigial sacred past.”

The London-based artist proudly recounts how the Balkan highlands were once home for a considerable portion of his childhood. He cherishes and protects the exposures of his upbringing frolicking in the mountains of Kosovo with fervent potency. Deeming the environments’ purity and verdure to be guided in shaping his unrestricted abstractions of the world. His current musical influences include the likes of Pantha Du Prince and Al Dobson Jr.

Accumulating press coverage across Clash, Earmilk, Notion, and Wonderland, as well as his latest music video achieving shortlisting for an array of global short film festivals, ION continues to present himself as an exciting emerging artist with a lot of promise for the future.
