Today, we sat down with VERITAS to talk about their start in music, latest album and much more! Be sure to follow their social media below and check out their new album!
Here is interview:
How did you get your start in music?
I grew up with music always being played around the house. I first started playing music very young in school band playing trumpet. I switched to guitar at age 15 when I heard KISS Alive and decided that’s what I wanted to do.
What type of music did you listen to while growing up?
My parents played everything from Frank Sinatra to The Beatles and Beach Boys. After I started learning guitar, I luckily had a cousin that had a record store and he would suggest bands that he thought I would like. Yngwie Malmsteen, Metal Church. My friends would share music too, Testament, Metallica, Suicidal Tendencies, and I had a kick ass guitar teacher that introduced me to bands like Racer X
What are fun stories you can share while you’re in the studio recording music?
The recordings for Veritas are done remotely, so we only get together at the final mixdown and we have a great time trying out different ideas before we settle on a final track. A funny story I had from a previous band was we had almost completed the recording of our cd and had decided to use reel to reel tape. Towards the end of the tape the machine started to have problems and we had to help it turn because it was starting to drag and slow down. We thought we were going to have to redo everything in digital. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, I have no rockstar shenanigan stories from the studio. Yet
