Interview:

What is your inspiration to write your music? Is it your

Surroundings?

Hey, I’m Torie Jock and I am super excited to be chatting today! My inspiration comes from my life. I always write my lyrics based on my personal experiences.

What type of music did you listen to growing up?

I listened to a lot of Motley Crue growing up because my mother absolutely loves them. We listened to a ton of the 80s hair bands and still listen to them to this day. Motley Crue has been one of my favorites since. I started listening to a lot of Cher when I hit about 10. I never really got into any of the current popular music at any time. The only place I really heard it was at dance class.

Is there someone you looked up as a hero?

I looked up to a lot of artists. I’ve always known what I wanted to do and artists that were out there doing it amazed me.

If you weren’t a musician, would you be doing today?

I recently answered this question a couple times in some recent interviews and my answer is always super morbid … LOL! If I weren’t a musician, I’d definitely be dead …

What advice do you have for our fans out there that want to create

Music?

Don’t lose sight of your dream! Everyone will tell you this industry is unrealistic and that you need a backup plan, but the way I see it, backup plans just distract you from your plan. Work your ass off and grow some thick skin, because you will need it in this business. Dreams can come true … My new album, Damaged Goods, was released on November 5th! It was co-written by me and my manager, Eric Gynan, of Leaving Eden. The album was signed by Dark Star Records/Sony/Universal Worldwide Distribution! Talk about dreams coming true! Getting signed and having an incredible manager like Eric seemed unreal and still sometimes does. Don’t lose hope! If you want things for the right reasons, the universe will come through for you.
