Interview with The Moor

Today, we sat down with The Moor to talk music inspiration, the man himself Chuck Schuldiner, and more! Be sure to check out their music below after the interview on Spotify!

Interview:

What is your inspiration to write your music? Is it your
surroundings?

Surroundings sums it up pretty well. There aren’t particular themes like a main concept through all the songs. Mainly the songs theme and lyrics treats personal stuff, then I would like the listeners to give their personal interpretation of the song.

What type of music did you listen to growing up?

We grew up with in the bay area thrash metal years and the death metal one, with bands like Metallica, Megadeth, Testament of course and then Death, Atheist, Cynic on the US part and then all the 90s Swedish death and melodic-death explosion.
Concerning our musical influences, they are various, from historical 70s progressive rock to raw black metal, or even some 80’s pop.

Is there someone you looked up as a hero?

Chuck Shuldiner

If you weren’t a musician, would you be doing today?

I cannot imagine my life without it, so it’s pretty impossible to say, maybe into video making or something like acting could be.

What advice do you have for our fans out there that want to create
music?

Rehearse and be yourself, I mean, don’t struggle trying to sound original. Just look at you at the mirror and decide who you are and what kind of message your art and music will bring to the people out there.
