Today, we sat down with St Aurora to talk their start in music, fun band stories and much more! Be sure to check out their music below after the interview!
How did you get your start in music?
I started out by playing the drums in a punkrock band when I was a about 15 years old. After a while I got into singing and the thought of being a frontman. My passion towards music gets its roots from my older brother who is a die hard Iron Maiden fan and was playing riffs from their songs all the time to me when I was a kid.
What type of music did you listen to while growing up?
I grew up listening to bands like Slipknot, Korn, Three Days Grace, Blink-182 and Sum 41. A lot of nu-metal stuff balanced up by pop-punk jams. Tenacious D was also the best when I was a teenager!
What are fun stories you can share while you’re in the studio recording music?
Well in the Lammaskallio studio where we recorded our first EP, there happened to be a weird cat shaped statue of somekind (later found out it was a “Maneki-Neko” which is a japanese good luck charm) on top of a bookshelf and it had a spring in its arm so it looked like it was pounding the air with a clenched fist so everytime we started recording our song “Rejects of society” we had to give it a little boost so it would give us extra strenght.
What is your latest song or album you can share with us?
Our 5 song EP “They All Remember” is out on every major streaming service! We are also working on new material that is coming out some time next year
