Interview:
What is your inspiration to write your music? Is it your surroundings?
Darren: Life and watching what goes on around, I’m a real people watcher… that gives me inspiration.
Stone: Everything that happens. To me, to my family, to my loved ones, to my friends, to people I don’t even know, and even people that don’t exist.
What type of music did you listen to growing up?
Stone: I grew up listening to stuff like ELO, Pink Floyd, George Harrison and Status Quo but I didn’t appreciate it at the time. Then when I was around 12 I discovered Iron Maiden and from there it exploded into Motorhead, Guns n’ Roses, Nuclear Assault, Pearl Jam, etc. and it made me appreciate what my mum had been playing.
Darren: I remember listening to Beatles records and learning their songs on guitar at 12 years. Hey Jude made me go WOW!
Is there someone you looked up as a hero?
Stone: For me it was Steve Harris, Axl Rose and Harrison Ford. We was Indiana Jones AND Han Solo!
Darren: My old man was my hero.
If you weren’t a musician, would you be doing today?
Darren: Oh I don’t know, maybe a Marine Electrician?
Stone: I haven’t got a clue. The universe can take you on so many different paths, but it took me on this one.
What advice do you have for our fans out there that want to create music?
Stone: Stone: Be passionate about your music but don’t rely on luck getting noticed. You gotta put in just as much effort there as you do in writing and playing.
Darren: Hone your craft and find your own way, carry on being you.
Stone: Thanks for having us.
Darren: It’s been a pleasure.
