Today, we sat down with the band Random Ties to talk music inspiration, music growing up and more! Be sure to check out their music below after the interview on Spotify!
Here is the interview:
What is your inspiration to write your music? Is it your surroundings?
What’s up everyone Youssef from Random Ties a feel-good rock band from Maryland, we got Ron on Bass, Jack on drums & myself on the guitar & vocals.
Allot of our songs draw from our determination to raise the volume on social injustice with tunes like “THEY DON’T CARE” https://youtu.be/TrE9fJEjT4M or the abuse of power in “NO MORE”. I’d like to think our songs serve a purpose & a voice for the underdog.
Growing up in Lebanon a war struck country that continues to struggle for survival to this day due to corruption we released “THAWRA” with a chilling music video produced by the talented Layal Gebran depicting the courage of the people trying to dethrone a criminal government.
In the end of the day, we are a Rock band and releasing music is what we do & we hope our fans appreciate that.
What type of music did you listen to growing up?
Growing up I loved listening to the Beatles, Elvis Presley, Erica Clapton, Michael Jackson and the band that really hit home with me was Nirvana that entire sound of the 90’s resonated so much with me
Our songs are heavily influenced by great bands coming out of that era such as Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters & Soundgarden to name a few.
Is there someone you looked up as a hero?
I always admired my grandad who really got me into music being an opera singer himself and the way he carried himself and treated others.
If you weren’t a musician, would you be doing today?
If I was a few inches taller an NBA basketball player.
What advice do you have for our fans out there that want to create music?
Music is an art form at its purest & never forget the reason that got you to create music it will help you along the ups & downs of your journey.
