Interview:
What is your inspiration to write your music? Is it your
surroundings?
Definitely- perhaps more in the context of our personal experiences being related to our surroundings. Everything we write about to date is something we have skin in the game with, and reflects our feelings hopes and emotions about those experiences. Its important for us because the music is so intense without that connection the sincerity wouldn’t be present.
What type of music did you listen to growing up?
In my teens, for me personally it began in earnest around 11 years old getting hooked on alternative guitar music like nirvana, radiohead, pixies, long pigs, but it quicker evolved into all forms of heavy guitar driven music like megadeth, pantera, metallica, sepultura, but I was wigging out on stuff like SRV and Hendrix too.
Is there someone you looked up as a hero?
When I was a kid it was Kurt Cobain for me, the ideas of playing with passion and from the heart and writing good songs being more important than how technically proficient you were, was inspirational.
If you weren’t a musician, would you be doing today?
I’d probably be a bum, or dead! haha
What advice do you have for our fans out there that want to create
music?
Work on your own sound and personality as much as possible, your own voice is what the scene needs- not another copy of a copy that’s successful.
