Interview:
How did you get your start in music?
In former years René played in several bands and then he was waiting to meet Cindy. ?
With Para Lia we started in 2018 with releasing a first track on a streaming platform and getting airplay in a British indie radio station. That was the beginning.
What type of music did you listen to while growing up?
Mainly guitar driven music from mid 60’s garage rock to the alt rock of the 80’s and 90’s.
What are fun stories you can share while you’re in the studio recording music?
Most funny moments we do have while shooting our videos. https://www.youtube.com/c/paralia
Have a look on our music video for ‘Riders On The Dike’. There you see our sense of humour ad hopefully our fun in the making of the video is to be seen.
What is your latest song or album you can share with us?
Our second longplayer ‘Gone With The Flow’, which you will find on streaming platforms as well as on vinyl. The idea oft he album was leading into a collaboration with the New York based artist called Louis Renzoni. Music and paintings – the meeting of both and the relationship between both art forms is the essence of the album and also an inspiration for the lyrical context. You can get an impression if you visit the 3D online exhibition with all album songs by Para Lia, paintings from Louis Renzoni, background informations, videos etc. Give it a visit here: https://www.sophisticatedape.com/gone-with-the-flow-exhibition/
