Today we sat down with Nyxborn to discuss their start in music, music listened to growing up and much more! Be sure to check out their music below after the interview!
Interview:
How did you get your start in music?
Nyxborn has been a solo blackened heavy project since 2016. We made our debut with the Eyes of The Night EP.
What type of music did you listen to while growing up?
I only listened to Iron Maiden (fanatically), but later I started listening to many more bands and got influenced by the likes of Judas Priest, Fates Warning, Iced Earth, Mastodon, Death, Black metal etc.
What are fun stories you can share while you’re in the studio recording music?
Well I have a story but its not so funny. I had just finished the recordings of a track called “Solomon’s Daemons” and I decided to read the Lesser Key of Solomon which is an anonymous grimoire on demonology, so I could be inspired for the song’s lyrics. So, when I opened the Lesser key of Solomon document in my PC, a power surge happened and my pc was toast… so I had to build a new one to finish the song and the album.
What is your latest song or album you can share with us?
Our latest album is called “Δαιμονολόγιο” (Demonologio). It consists of nine musical parts and undertakes a storytelling of demonization, social religious perspectives and myth.
Demonizing the enemy, in other words, portraying the enemy as malicious and repulsive, is the oldest propaganda technique. The very same word “demon” is misinterpreted and is still used as a tool to shape the mind.
There are multiple examples in the human history, when this technique has been used for certain purposes and agendas. This theme is apparent for the most part of the album in many songs and sets the mood for a dark heavy metal listening.
