Interview:
What is your inspiration to write your music? Is it your surroundings?
The concept behind Neon dragon was that inspiration would come from my artwork. My original oil paintings explore visually what I’m trying to do with my music. It works back and forth, sometimes the music inspires the art.
What type of music did you listen to growing up?
Basically Hard Rock, starting off with Deep Purple and Van Halen. I was inspired by guitarists with unique personalities I could hear through their playing. That’s what I aspired to become.
Is there someone you looked up to as a hero?
Ritchie Blackmore and Eddie Van Halen were the first. Then Gary Moore and John Sykes after I discovered Thin Lizzy. But my ultimate hero is Phil Lynott.
If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing today?
I’d just to be a father to my children and I’d be happy to do that. Music is a beautiful thing to have in my life but it’s not all there is.
What advice do you have for our fans out there that want to create music?
It’s simple, just follow your passion, seek inspiration, and create!
