Interview:
What is your inspiration to write your music? Is it your
surroundings?
We are on an ongoing search for music we’d love to hear, but hasn’t been written or
iterated yet. Also: getting buttery chord changes to go well with vocals, great drums and a
thick bass melody. Our primary inspiration in writing music are our daily life events. Viv is
writing mostly about her inner world. Most of her lyrics of the new album came up when
she was doing meditation.
We are always searching for new music. Music we didn’t hear yet, music that has an
unique sound and isn’t scared to be experimental.
What type of music did you listen to growing up?
We all listened to a variety of music growing up, but Stevie Wonder, Prince, Earth, Wind
and Fire, Sly Stone, Michael McDonald and Jimi Hendrix are a couple of our favourites.
Is there someone you looked up as a hero?
Stevie Wonder, Prince, Chaka Khan and Jimi Hendrix are big heroes of ours.
If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing today?
If Vivian wasn’t a musician, she would probably be an event planner, teacher or social
worker. Marc is besides music an illustrator too. He made the artwork for our first album
and you can easily recognize his drawing style, it stands out. He made a lot of illustrations
for multiple brands and worked with magazines worldwide.
What advice do you have for our fans out there that want to create
music?
Do your own thing. Don’t compare yourself with others, believe in your own story to tell
and do it your own way. The first one that has to like your music, will be yourself. Write
from your heart and not your head. We believe that the best music comes from what you
feel, instead of what you think that would be nice.
