Interview:
What is your inspiration to write your music? Is it your
surroundings?
Hey, Jokke here from MACHINE 85 speaking. Thanks for having me. I take my inspiration from everything around me. What I feel, what I experience in life. Everything we write is about something real. Thats for sure. No fiction. I grew up in Sweden. So lot of things to be inspired by here. The music scene, great bands and artists, the woods, the search for something else in the big world drives you to be better.
What type of music did you listen to growing up?
When I was a kid I listened ALOT to Metallica. Then took a detour into stuff like Blind guardian and Manowar haha. As I grew older I started to listen to more old school rock like Purple and Sabbath. Then got into Jazz, fusion, and pop. So ive been through most of it. Thats why we sound the way we do I guess.
Is there someone you looked up as a hero?
My dad for sure, he took me and my guitar everywhere! Super supportive. Waited back stage, drove us wherever we needed to go. Got me my first guitar after he realized I sucked att all the sport stuff. Tought me my first chords. The type of dad who would scream from the audience wanting me to turn up my guitar! Not ashamed of anything.
If you weren’t a musician, would you be doing today?
Something with Engines. I have a small hobby workshop next to my recording studio where I work on my motorcycles just for fun and therapy.
What advice do you have for our fans out there that want to create
music?
Dont let anyone tell you how you write and perform YOUR music. Belive in every note. Work hard and you will get there in the end!
